7. What is Sam McCarthy Age?

The Dead to Me actor was born on 2002, which makes him 18 years old as of now. 

Sam has a stepsister, Willow McCarthy, and stepbrother, Rowan McCarthy. He is represented by Paradigm Talent Agency and Liebman Entertainment.

6. He is the Son of 80s Heartthrob Andrew McCarthy

Sam is the son of actor, travel writer and television director, Andrew McCarthy, and his ex-wife, Carol Schneider

McCarthy is regarded as a member of the Brat Pack, a term given to young actors of the 1980s who frequently appeared with other members of the Brat Pack in teen-oriented coming-of-age films.

Andrew was part of the cult classic Pretty in Pink along with Molly Ringwald and Jon Cryer. Interestingly, the original choice for Blane McDonough was Cryer's Two and a Half Men co-star Charlie Sheen, but Ringwald convinced the filmmakers to cast McCarthy for the role instead. 

Besides, McCarthy is famous for his roles in the 1980s films such as St. Elmo's Fire, Less Than Zero, and Mannequin

5. Not to be confused with New Zealand Vocalist

Sam shares an identical name with Auckland born singer-songwriter and guitarist, Sam McCarthy. He is also known as Boyboy. 

The New Zealand native is best known for his work in the bands: Kids of 88 and Goodnight Nurse. He has also won  'Single of the Year' in New Zealand Music Award for the single, Just a Little Bit, with Kids of 88.

4. Had a Cameo in The Blacklist

McCarthy had an episodic role in NBC's crime thriller television series The Blacklist. He appeared in episode seven, Dr. Adrian Shaw, of season four.

It aired on November 3, 2016, and also featured actors as Ulrich Thomsen, Linda Emond, James Hong, and Annapurna Sriram in guest-role. As a matter of fact, the episode was directed by McCarthy's father, Andrew, and written by Chap Taylor.

3. Appeared Along With Molly Ringwald in His Film Debut

The Dead to Me actor made his big-screen debut with 2018 movie All These Small Moments as Simon Sheffield. 

The coming-of-age drama film tells a story of a teenager who is silently in love with a woman he frequently sees on his bus ride to school. It focuses on the character's desire to be at a different age; teenagers desire to become older while adults pine for the time when they were young. 

Sam did not really 'feel the need to over-prepare of this role' because he found the 'aspects of my own character that were quite similar to Simon, so sliding into the role did not take much effort.'

2. He Had a Recurring Role in Condor

McCarthy appeared as Sam Barber Jr. in the thriller television series Condor. It was based on James Grady's novel Six Days of the Condor, and its film adaptation Three Days of the Condor.

In the show, McCarthy is seen as the son of Sam Barber, portrayed by Kristoffer Polaha. The series premiered on June 6, 2018, and has completed one season until now.

McCarthy appears as a series regular in the black comedy web television series Dead to Me. 

He was introduced as Charlie Harding, a older son of Jen Harding. Like his mother, Jen, he grapples with coming to terms after the sudden loss of his father.
