She Was Married to Damon Thomas

It is hard to believe that someone as sophisticated and worldly as Kim was once a naïve 19-year-old. She was still trying to find her stride in showbiz when she met music producer Damon Thomas. The two eloped to Las Vegas and married in 2000.

After three years together, Kim filed for divorce in 2003, citing instances of physical and emotional abuse on the part of Thomas. 

Ray J And Sex Tape

Kim and Damon’s divorce proceedings were still underway when Kim started dating rapper Ray J. Kim was working as an assistant for Ray’s sister Brandy. The two dated on and off from 2005 to 2007, but their relationship could not materialize into anything substantial.

In hindsight, Kim’s tumultuous relationship with Ray J turned out to be a godsend for the would-be celebrity. After struggling to get a foot in the entertainment industry, she became the most talked-about celebrity overnight, courtesy of the buzz generated by her sex tape with Ray J. 

The sex tape, made by Kim and Ray in 2002 leaked online in 2007. The tape was distributed by Vivid Entertainment unbeknownst to Kim, prompting her to file a lawsuit against the pornographic movie studio.

Kim later rescinded her lawsuit and settled for $5 million for granting Vivid Entertainment the rights to continue distributing her tape. 

While the general public shamed the move as a publicity stunt, it nonetheless helped Kim land a TV deal for her reality TV show with her family, called Keeping up with the Kardashians. 

She Had a Short Term Relationship With Nick Lachey

Kim had a brief fling with the actor Nick Lachey after his split with actress Jessica Simpson, but nothing substantial came of it. Years later, Nick revealed that they broke up because Kim was more interested in the limelight that him.

Dated Nick Cannon From 2006 to 2007

From one Nick to another, Kim was also briefly dating the actor/singer/television host, Nick Cannon from September 2006 to January 2007. 

Their relationship could not last either, and Nick revealed that it had something to do with the release of her sex tape. 

Got Engaged to Reggie Bush

Kim dated NFL running back Reggie Bush intermittently from 2007. Rumor mills were running rampant at the time with supposed news of their engagement, but the two broke up in 2010.

Kim dated another NFL athlete Miles Austin in 2010, but they broke up after mere months because Miles detested the spotlight and Kim could not live without it.

Kim was spotted going out with singer/songwriter John Mayer in 2010, but they reportedly never made it past their dates.

Kim was briefly linked to Halle Berry's model ex-husband, Gabriel Aubry in late 2010. Their relationship could not last either.

Kris Humphries

After a string of brief flings, it seemed Kim was ready to settle down when she announced her engagement to the basketballer Kris Humphries in May 2011. They had been dating since October 2010; Kim walked the aisle in a ceremony in Montecito, California on August 20, 2011.

She is Currently Married to Kanye West

After the dust had settled following her divorce with Kris, Kim began dating the singer/rapper Kanye West in April 2012. They had been friends for a long time, and Kanye admitted to secretly harboring a romantic feeling towards Kim since her days dating Ray J.

After her divorce had been finalized, Kim went forward with her relationship with Kanye, getting engaged on October 21, 2014, and tying the knot on May 24, 2014.
