Amazon Prime's upcoming animated superhero series "Invincible" might low-key be one of the most anticipated series on any streaming platform right now. Since being announced that the series will drop in March later this year, the anticipation has never been higher.
Here is what you should know about Amazon Prime's Invincible:
Invincible is based on the eponymous comic book series written by Robert Kirkman, whose graphic novel inspired AMC's hit zombie thriller series The Walking Dead, and illustrated by Cory Walker.
The series will be told from the perspective of Mark Grayson, a seemingly normal teenager but who is secretly the son of Nolan Grayson, the greatest superhero the world has ever seen.
Invincible features a star-studded cast of actors in voice-over roles.
The two lead roles of Mark and Nolan Grayson are played by Steven Yeun and J. K. Simmons.
Yeun has previously worked with Robert Kirkman in AMC's The Walking Dead while J. K. Simmons is an Academy Award-winning actor of Whiplash and played J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man film trilogy.
They are joined by Sandra Oh (Grey's Anatomy, Killing Eve) as Debbie Grayson, Mark Hamill (Star Wars, Batman: The Animated Series) as Art Rosenbaum, Seth Rogen (Freaks and Geeks, The Interview) as Allen the Alien, Gillian Jacobs (Community, Girls) as Samantha Eve Wilkins / Atom Eve, Andrew Rannells (Girls, How I Met Your Mother) as William Crockwell, Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2, Joker) as Amber Bennett, Zachary Quinto (Star Trek, American Horror Story) as Rudy Conners / Robot, and Lauren Cohan (Supernatural, The Walking Dead) as War Woman, among others.
On January 22, 2021, Robert Kirkman celebrated the 18th anniversary of the release of the first issue of the Invincible comics by confirming that the animated series will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on March 26, 2021.
The first three episodes of the show will be available to stream immediately with the rest of the episodes releasing weekly.
