    Richard Lu was born in the year 1972  in California, the US as the son of a Presbyterian minister. 

    His real surname is Wong as his ancestry is from Southern China. His grandfather illegally immigrated to America and used a false name which is why he now uses Lu as his last name.

For his Master's degree, he joined the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business from where he completed an MBA degree.
