    Crahan is married to Chantel Crahan. The couple exchanged their wedding vows on 27th June 1993 in midst of family and friends.

    Crahan’s Career Highlight

    In 1995, Shawn along with fellow musician Paul Gray formed a metal band known as the Pale Ones. They added Joey Jordison as their drummer and released a song entitled “Slipknot” in 1996. After Joey’s suggestion, they officially changed their name to Slipknot and released their first official album.

    He later brought in Corey Taylor as the band’s vocalist after he felt that the original vocalist for Slipknot was too guttural. They released their official debut album titled in 1999.

    The album gained major notability and toured with Ozzfest the same year. Shawn has sung backing vocals for several songs for the band which has been recorded and performed live.

    Likewise, he also wrote Tattered & Torn which was featured on the band’s first album, Mate. Feed. Kill, Repeat.

    Apart from Slipknot, he has founded Big Orange Clown Records which has so far signed the metalcore band Gizmachi. Likewise, he also performed with an American experimental rock band To My Surprise recording guitar and vocals for the band’s debut album.

    As of 2007, Shawn began performing as a drummer for rock band Dirty Little Rabbits. The band has released one EP entitled Breeding and was a supporting act for Stone Sour during their North American tour in Summer 2007.

    In 2009, he remixed Coheed and Cambria’s “Welcome Home” and a Suicide Silence track on their EP titled Wake Up.

    As of 2020, Crahan has directed many of Slipknot’s music videos. While performing with the band, Shawn generally wears clown-style masks, whereas, when performing Vermilion, all of the band members wear their own death masks instead.
