Bret Michael Harrison is an actor and musician who became prominent for his work on comedy television shows as Grounded for Life, The Loop, Reaper, and Breaking In.

He is also known for his work in movies as Orange County, Mardi Gras: Spring Break, and The O.C. Recently, Harrison appeared alongside his former That's 70s Show co-stars in Netflix's sitcom The Ranch. Here are seven interesting facts to know about Harrison. 

7. How old is Bret Harrison?

Bret Harrison is  38 years old as of 2020. He was born on April 6, 1982, in Portland, Oregon. Harrison stands 5 feet and 10 inches tall (1.78 m). 

6. Harrison's Parents Were Supportive of his Career Choice

As a child, the Reaper actor would often emulate Poison's lead singer, Bret Michaels, using the candlestick as a microphone. Harrison's mother, Lisa Harrison, a special educations teacher and father, Michael Harrison, a pharmacist, insisted Bret to follow whatever he is passionate about, gifting him a electric guitar on his 10th birthday.

Harrison went on to take jazz dance classes, broadening his horizons, and eventually moving into acting with a small role as an elf in The Singing Christmas Tree. He studied acting with The Last House on the Left actress Sandra Peabody at the age of 15. With his parents' permission, Harrison moved to Los Angeles to pursue a full-time acting profession.

5. He is the Guitarist of Los Angeles Indie Rock Band

Harrison is a member of a Los Angeles-based four-piece indie rock band, Big Japan, formerly known as Steven's Team. The group released their first album, Music for Dummies, through Nightshift Records on August 23, 2005.

Along with Harrison, Nathanial Castro plays the guitar in addition to being a lead vocalist. The O.C.'s actor  Adam Brody is on the drums and Brad Babinski on the bass. Because of Brody and Harrison's hectic schedule, the band occasionally record and perform their music. 

4. Bret's Character, Charlie, Died in That 70s Show

Bret Harrison played as Charlie Richardson in Fox's sitcom That 70s Show. He is introduced as the son of Allen Richardson, a war buddy of Red Forman, at the end of the seventh season.

Initially, Harrison's character was written as a replacement for one of the lead character, Eric Forman, and would have stayed for the entire eighth season. However, the 38 years old decided to take the lead role offer of Fox's The Loop, which led his character to be killed off.

In the first episode, Bohemian Rhapsody, of season eight, it is revealed that the infamous location of the show, water tower, is now named after Charles, following his death after falling off the water tower; the same tower where Fez, Forman, and Kelso had all fallen off and sustained minor injuries.

Harrison and his girlfriend of seven years, Lauren Zelman, tied the knot on March 25, 2012, before an intimate group of family and friends in Parker Palm Springs Hotel.

Lauren, a brand manager for Jessica Simpson's fashion line, has been a close friend of both Jessica and Ashlee Simpson. The Simpsons sisters fulfilled their bridesmaid duties, albeit Jessica's late-stage pregnancy with daughter, Maxwell Drew Johnson

Eric Johnson, Vincent Piazza, and Joe and Tina Simpson were also present in the ceremony. Ashlee's son Bronx Wentz served as the ring bearer in Harrison and Zelman's wedding. The couple has two children together, a son and a daughter.

Bret Harrison played as Kenny Ballard in the web television sitcom The Ranch. He reunited with That '70s Show co-stars: Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson, Wilmer Valderrama, Kurtwood Smith, and Debra Jo Rupp after eleven years in the show. 

Harrison's character, Kenny, is seen as a Courtyard by Marriott manager and the ex-fiance of Abby Phillips-Bennett, played by Elisha Cuthbert
